Like its .300 BLK counterpart this Q SW-556-13IN-SHORTY rifle is regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA) requiring additional paperwork and a tax stamp for ownership. Overall the Sugar Weasel 5.56 SBR offers users a compact and potent rifle platform suitable for a variety of tactical scenarios.The Q LLC Sugar Weasel is a cost-effective alternative to the famous Honey Badger offering comparable performance at a significantly lower price point. Its front end is nearly identical to the Honey Badger designed for suppressor use. The 7-inch stainless steel match-grade barrel is optimized for the .300 Blackout cartridge with a 1:5" twist rate ideal for stabilizing heavy subsonic bullets ensuring excellent accuracy at medium to long ranges. The Sugar Weasel is further tailored for suppressed shooting featuring an adjustable gas block for adapting to different ammunition types.Unlike the Honey Badger the rear half of the Sugar Weasel differs in significant ways. It utilizes a forged receiver commonly found in AR platforms instead of a milled billet construction. The stock has been replaced with a more conventional MOE SL-K stock which can be swapped for most AR-style stocks.Additional features of the Sugar Weasel include its compact and lightweight design measuring just 25.75 inches with the stock fully extended and weighing less than 5 lbs. This makes the Sugar Weasel comparable in weight and overall length to a standard MP5.
