Before mounting the VPU, perform a battery test and plug in the two-pronged cable from your gas mask microphone. Switch the unit on, select your desired volume, and mount the microphone. Note that acoustic feedback may occur if the VPU is placed too close to your gas mask microphone. To eliminate feedback, either reduce the volume or increase the distance between the VPU and the microphone.
